Will Gadd does Crossfit →
This is full of some real gems…while he is specifically talking about training for ice climbing he makes some very valid points about the movements in Crossfit that I think are universal. I haven’t said it here, but since starting crossfit I am leaner, stronger, and more comfortable in life, climbing, and on the bike then I have been in years. We’ll see what happens when race...

weight gain
in the last 4 months i seem to have gained 9 pounds. yet i am clearly leaner then when i started. so that would be 9 pounds of muscle, i wonder if this is a good thing? when i started working out again i was hoping to lose 15 pounds.
These days unremarkable fitness is called elite.

BMC
I am really excited to see BMC taking it up a notch, and they are quickly becoming my new favorite team. That being said, I’m not sure how THIS could be a good move for Cadel Evans. Unless they hire some serious domestiques, he is going to be on even shakier ground then at Lotto. That being said, Cadel seems pretty weak phsycologically, and maybe all he needs is to know that a team supports...

CURATED
This word has been my least favorite addition to the hipster lexicon. It’s been thrown around in a variety of contexts lately, that simply add value and meaning to tasks that do not deserve it. My favorite weekly cycling blog seems to also have noted this:
“ ”Curated”? Before 2009 was the verb “to curate” ever used out of the context of an art museum? The idea...

* the man that made me cry for my mommy at floyd, david wiswell will ride for colavita next year. let’s hope they put him on the roster to race. sometimes these teams pickup young guys to get their age limits down and never race them.
* neil bezdeck continues his rise to stardom and joins mt khakis. he doesn’t really race like a big gun yet, but there is clearly potential.

I am not a huge fan of Michael Barry’s writing. I find it to be overwritten, wordy, and often attempts to sound overly worldly and intelligent. However I am ecstatic to see him come out in support of a ban on race radios. I whole heartedly believe that the sport has become boring and formulaic and watching most pro races has become a tedious emotionless affair. Cheers to Barry for calling a...

between work, the changing of the seasons, and the little man, my active life has completely fallen apart. i’ve been trying to reintegrate the trainer, and training in general, after nearly two months of limited riding/physical activity…but it is boring and hard, and doesn’t really address some overall physical weaknesses i have been becoming more and more aware of. i’ve...

Pretty good
This is a pretty good article about doping, and the difference in the way Europeans view cycling and doping, and the way Americans view cycling and doping.

The Tour
Some thoughts on the tour de france:
1. If you are a Hincapie fan, stage 14 was another in a long line of disappointments. Forget who chased who, who deserved what…Garmin doesn’t owe Hincapie anything, and Columbia are the biggest whiners in the bunch right now. What it truly comes down to is Hincapie is incapable of winning because he is never willing to risk losing. He never puts...

Floyd - I will be brief...maybe not
Floyd went pretty well. The wind was blowing in the opposite direction and the field was huge so a sprint seemed inevitable. I was really patient and stayed in the top 1/4 till about 4 laps to go when I bridged to a solo Kyle “Peepshow” (*1)(adler), and we were joined by Kevin Molly (Empire) Sal Scotto (Mengoni), Chris Chaput (Adler) and a Sid’s guy who hates me(*2). It was...

Support Group meeting?
There was a fight at floyd last night, and now the whole nyvelocity chatter is out of control…people are acting a fool. The fight happened to be between two african american racers which has shed some light on some serious racism in the nyc cycling community. Anyway, the whole thing is pretty ridiculous, so I decided to stir the pot and post this:
Hey everybody, I too witnessed the fight...
Contador to Garmin →
I really hope we get to see Astana implode at the tour, and that Contador and the second coming race eachother out of the top 5.
